چکیده

Abstract The continuous and rapid growth of sewage sludge (biosolids) from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) poses both economic environmental challenges. In many cities Russia, the situation has exacerbated with time. this study, three state-of-the-art biosolid management technologies, namely windrow composting (WC), tunnel (TC), lime stabilization (LS), were evaluated for their feasibility to produce commercially biofertilizers WWTP-derived biosolids. Based on an annual discharge 22,000 m 3 dewatered biosolids case WWTP, about 29,785, 22,453, 35,056 could be produced through WC, TC, LS, respectively. Analysis showed selected LS technological options feasible if selling price biofertilizer would maintained at 19 EUR/m WC 77 TC. discounted payback period (DPP) TC 3.1, 18.1, 25.3 years, respectively, IRR (internal rate return) 10%. key characteristics treated found good enough meet existing laws, standards, regulations in Russia. From investment perspective, study is useful developing production enterprise level.

Distribution of antidepressant residues in wastewater and biosolids following different treatment processes by municipal wastewater treatment plants in Canada.

The fate of 14 antidepressants along with their respective N-desmethyl metabolites and the anticonvulsive drug carbamazepine (CBZ) was studied in 5 different sewage treatment plants (STPs) across Canada. Using two validated LC-MS/MS analytical methods, the concentrations of the different compounds were determined in raw influent, final effluent and treated biosolids samples. Out of the 15 compo...

Biofertilizer production from gas refinery wastewater

Abstract In this study the wastewater treatment of a gas refinery was investigated by using an aerobic trickle bed filter bioreactor. Using a methanothrophic bacterium was the only difference of this experiment from the common aerobic wastewater treatment processes. In addition to reach the standards of wastewater treatments the other goal of using this special bacterium was the productio...

Evaluation of the Treatment of Pharmaceutical Industry Wastewater Using Chemical and Biological Methods (Case Study: Treatment of Wastewater Produced by Production of Methadone and Capecitabine)

Background & objectives: Pharmaceutical wastewater contains high concentrations of organic matter, high salt and difficult biodegradability, so it must be treated before discharge to the environment. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the treatment of pharmaceutical wastewater (methadone feedstock and neutralized capecitabine) using chemical and biological methods. Methods: The laboratory ...
